The Glory Hole Waterfall, Frozen in Time

This last week in Arkansas we have had the coldest weather in 20 years, several days of not reaching above freezing and lows near zero every night.  One of the effects of the cold is that the steams and waterfalls have been virtually frozen in time, creating some incredible displays of mother nature at work.

These photos are from the Arkansas Glory Hole, which is a small waterfall in the Ozark National Forrest, that is a hole that has eroded through the top of a large rock overhang.  The small creek drops through this hole creating the waterfall.  Here is the result of adding some extreme cold temperatures.
