Arcadia is located 15 miles north of Oklahoma City and is home to the Famous Round Barn, which has become one of the most visited and photographed buildings on Route 66.

The Round Barn in Arcadia Oklahoma was built by William Oder in 1998 and served as a home for cattle. The barn is 60′ in diameter and 45′ tall. The barn’s second story was also used as a place for dances for the locals. The barn has become one of the best known Route 66 landmarks in the country and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. In 1998 the barns roof collapsed and knowing it would be no small feat, Luther “Luke” Robison (a retired building contractor) had long admired the Round Barn and decided that he would save it from utter ruin. He and the Over the Hill Gang, (a group of retirees) volunteered their time, money and skill to the task. The barn is now completely restored and open to the public

 

Pop’s located on Route 66 in Arcadia Oklahoma is one of the newest icons on the mother road. Opened in 2007 Pop’s is a gas station and restaurant featuring a selection of over 500 varieties of soda pop…In the windows are glass shelves lined with Pops’ rainbow of sodas…The world’s largest pop bottle is 66 feet tall and weighs over 4 tons. At night the LED lights transform the sculpture into a fantastic light show of changing colors.
