		<description><![CDATA[<a href="http://blog.gregdisch.com/2010/05/30/the-alamo/" alt="The Alamo"><img src="" align="left" alt="The Alamo" hspace="5" vspace="5" border="0" /></a>Just a quick post, I am spending the Memorial Day Weekend in Texas and got to visit the Alamo.  This is a very crowded and busy place with people everywhere and I thought it would be impossible to get a clean photo.  They close at 5:00 so I returned after dark thinking that there would not be anyone around, boy was I wrong the area was still swarming with people.  I went ahead and setup my tripod and and got everything set and waited.  Eventually the crowds thinned some and a few people were nice enough to stay out of view for a minute while I could make the photo.  This is a HDR composit... <a href="http://blog.gregdisch.com/2010/05/30/the-alamo/">Click Here to read complete article...</a>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<a href="http://blog.gregdisch.com/2010/01/30/snow-photos-night-and-day/" alt="Snow Photos, Night and Day"><img src="" align="left" alt="Snow Photos, Night and Day" hspace="5" vspace="5" border="0" /></a>On the 29th of January we had the heaviest show we have had in this area for several years, it is not unsual for us to go through the winter without a snow that will actually cover the ground, we had 5 to 7 inches of accumulation with this storm.  This being a rare opportunity I had to venture out and shoot photos, beginning Friday evening about 10:00 pm and shooting till about midnight in Fort Smith and Van Buren.  Then venturing out again on Saturday Morning and traveling into Oklahoma where the snow was not as deep but still got some interesting shots and a couple of eagles.

These are photos from this trip.

		<description><![CDATA[<a href="http://blog.gregdisch.com/2010/01/04/nelson-nevada-ghost-town/" alt="Nelson Nevada, Ghost Town "><img src="" align="left" alt="Nelson Nevada, Ghost Town " hspace="5" vspace="5" border="0" /></a>Nelson Nevada, about 25 miles southwest of  Las Vegas was once an active mining area which produced millions of dollars in gold, silver, copper and lead.  Over the last decade owners of the mine have restored a number of buildings and created a museum to the area and the Techatticup Mine. There are several buildings, old vehicles, and just about anything else, just lying around that they have collected.

All of the photos in this post have been converted to black and white, or actually sepia tone because I felt the effect fit the subject very well.
